A cyber security researcher says he’d understand why some Australians would feel “overwhelmed” by recent data hacks, with some estimates suggesting half of Australia’s population could have been impacted.

Optus, Medibank and now online wine retailer Vinomofo are among those companies to have had data breaches.

“I’ve covered this stuff for a very long time and, I have to say, the last four weeks, particularly for Australia, have been just extraordinary,” Jeremy Kirk told Neil Mitchell.
