Survivors of the Bali bombings have walked out on a commemoration service to mark the 20th anniversary of the terror attack after a “very bad taste” video was played at the service.

Peter Hughes, who nearly died in the attack, told Neil Mitchell he walked out of the service after 20 minutes.

“I thought, oh my god, what are they doing here?” he said on 3AW.

He said the video played at the service showed vision of the attacks, as well as frequent shots of the terrorists involved.

“It just didn’t look right, at all,” Mr Hughes said.

“It was very bad taste.

“They kept showing the terrorists, over and over again.”
