Two offenders are on the run after armed robberies across Melbourne’s north-west, which police believe are linked.

The first occurred at a milk bar on Dumfries Street in Deer Park on Thursday 1 February.

Police say two men, one armed with a baseball bat and one armed with an axe, entered the store just before 9pm.

The pair grabbed cash and cigarettes and fled the scene on a motorcycle.

They were last seen travelling south along Salmond Street.

The second armed robbery happened at a grocery store on Tenterfield Drive, Burnside Heights on Friday 2 February, shortly after 4pm.

CCTV shows two men arrive at the store on a motorbike, before one enters armed with a metal pole.

He jumps the counter and made demands for cash, which was handed over and the pair fled.

The offenders are described as Caucasian in appearance.

No one was physically injured during the incidents.
