Barefoot passenger smashes rideshare car with hammer
A man has been arrested after the windows of a ride-share vehicle were smashed in a dramatic incident at Blackburn.
Police say the man got in the car at Carlton and was travelling to Surrey Hills when a dispute over payment occurred on Thursday morning.
The driver pulled over in Lalwa Street and a barefoot passenger got out and started to damage the car with a hammer.
The rideshare driver has told police he stopped at a hardware store earlier in the trip, where the passenger bought the hammer.
Police said a 42-year-old man was arrested without incident at a shopping centre on Canterbury Road about 1.30pm.
He is currently being interviewed in relation to the matter.
