SCORCHERS WIN AGAIN

Michael Klinger’s 83 has sealed a six-wicket victory for the Perth Scorchers.

Klinger and Ashton Turner (45) combined beautifully to guide the home team to their fourth consecutive victory.

Sydney Sixers are now winless after four games ahead of a crunch clash in Geelong against the Renegades on Wednesday night. Perth Scorchers will look to make it five from five when they travel to the Gabba for a blockbuster matchup on Friday night.

INNINGS BREAK

Reigning BBL champions Perth Scorchers have work to do, with Sydney Sixers setting them 168 to win.

In a re-match of last season’s final,  Englishman David Willey was the Scorchers’ best bowler, ending with figures of 2-30 off four overs.

Fellow Englishman Sam Billings was prolific for the Sixers, reaching 33 off just 21 deliverers. Jordan Silk (45 not out) top scored for the away team and provided the key partnership with Billings to guide the Sixers to a final score of 4/167.

The Sixers may have lost their opening three games but they’ve gone to Perth and posted a competitive total against the powerhouse that is the Scorchers. Who wins? Make sure you join us for all the action from the WACA.

PREVIEW

The second match of tonight’s BBL double header sees BBL|06 finalists Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers face off in front of a packed WACA crowd.

While the Scorchers have carried over their good form from last year, the Sixers have lost all three of their matches so far and badly need to win tonight if they hold out any hope of matching their feats of last season.

These teams have already met in BBL|07 and it’s bad news for the Sixers, who were blown away  as Andrew Tye (four wickets) and Ashton Turner (52 not out) caused havoc on the way to the Scorchers recording a comfortable six-wicket win at the SCG.

The key question looming ahead of this contest is what the Sixers will do to stop the rot and record their first victory this season. Captain Moises Henriques is out for personal reasons, making the daunting trip west even harder for a team that simply has to win.

Make sure you join us from 9.20pm AEDT (6.20pm AWST) on Talking Lifestyle in Sydney, 6PR in Perth, NTS Digital around the country or through the Cricket Australia website and app as we bring you every ball from the WACA.
