RECAP

As always, there’s plenty making news in the world of cricket. Here’s some of the headlines before we get underway at the SCG:

====

Round 3 of BBL|07 swings into tonight as Sydney Sixers play host to the Adelaide Strikers at the SCG.

Last time out, the Sixers fell to the rampaging Perth Scorchers after an opening-night loss against crosstown rivals Sydney Thunder, leaving them languishing at the bottom of the table as they prepare to play their third game of the tournament tonight.

Nic Maddinson stared for the home team on Saturday, notching up 31 off 33 balls as wickets continued to fall around him.

As for Adelaide Strikers, they play their second match after crushing the Thunder by 53 runs last Friday night. Ben Laughlin finished with 4-26 figures in their BBL|07 opener, while Alex Carey (44) and Travis Head (36) looked assured with the bat.

Tonight’s match looms as a fascinating contest between two sides still feeling their way into the season and could provide clarity as to how the respective teams will fare over the next month.
