RENEGADES WIN

No White, Finch Hodge and Hogg? No worries for the Renegades, who book their spot in the finals with a win in Canberra tonight.

The men from Melbourne made hard work of the run chase – including conceding one 28-run over off Wildermuth – but eventually prevailed to notch up a nine-run win in the final over.

Ben Rohrer blasted 48 off 21 for the Thunder but even his heroics weren’t enough to drag his side over the line.

The Thunder are now out of the finals race, with the top four looked all but set with just a few games left to play this season.

INNINGS BREAK

A Marcus Harris-inspired Renegades have finished up on 6-189 after their 20 overs

The 25-year-old starred from the start, blasting 64 off 41 to put his side in a good position heading into the second innings.

The likes of Fawed Ahmed and Chris Green restricted the away team during the back half of the innings but Mitch McClenaghan’s final over went for 25 and undid a lot of the Thunder’s good work.

PREVIEW

BBL action hits Canberra for the first time in competition history in what is a crucial game for the Melbourne Renegades.

While Sydney Thunder – who have opted to take their fifth home game of the season to Manuka Oval – are out of the running for this season’s finals spots, the Renegades still require a victory to secure their spot in the top four.

The men in red failed to beat Adelaide Strikers on Monday night and after a 10 day break prior to their last match, the Renegades are forced to back up just two days after for what is a do-or-die clash tonight.

The Thunder have generally disappointed this year but they’ll be looking to put things right in front of many expectant fans in Canberra, despite rising star Arjun Nair being banned from bowling due to a suspect action.

After a promising start to the BBL|07 season, the Renegades have lost their last three to put their finals spot in doubt. Can they finally clinch a top four spot or will the Thunder spoil the party?
