Victorians are being warned to brace for extremely high pollen levels across the weekend and into next week.

Hay fever expert at Melbourne University’s school of biosciences, Dr Edwin Lampugnani, says the outlook is bad for those with grass pollen allergies until Thursday.

The grass pollen forecast for much of the state is “extreme”, and in the southern part of the state it’s “high”.

“High will still cause symptoms in almost everybody with grass pollen allergies,” he told Neil Mitchell. “Be well prepared and take those medications early”.
