A bearded bicycle bandit has been accused of verbally abusing a woman and smashing in her windscreen in Melbourne’s inner north.

Erin told Tom Elliott she was parked, waiting to pick up her kids on Langs Rd, Ascot Vale, opposite the Melbourne Showgrounds, about 3.30pm on Wednesday when the bizarre road rage incident occurred.

“I was waiting to pick my kids up from school, when a man rode up beside my car and proceeded to smash my windscreen with one punch,” she said.

“One hand, one punch from head height he smashed the windscreen, it shattered.”

“He said that I cut him off, but it’s a school zone so I was being very careful.

“I was shocked.”

Erin said she started “shaking and crying” and contacted police, who are now investigating.

The man was last seen cycling down Miriam Street.
