Beechworth sweet shop has signage pulled for featuring golliwogs

The former owner of a Beechworth sweet shop is devastated after the advertising standards board pulled her ad because it featured golliwogs.

Judi Borschman helped create the logo a few years ago.

The store also features numerous displays of golliwogs.

She’s told Neil Mitchell it was meant to remind people of their childhoods, and wasn’t meant to offend.

‘I had a little cry on Saturday when I read the information in the Border Mail.’

‘I’m very disappointed that this has happened, it’s brought so much happiness to many many kids and adults alike.’ ? Judi told 3AW Mornings.
