The iconic W Class tram, a sight in Melbourne for a century, could soon be a thing of the past.

President of the Public Transport Users Association, Tony Morton, says it looks like the beginning of the end for the tram.

“We used to have hundreds and hundreds of them basically sitting in a great big depot still in working order, there’s a lot less now,” he told Tony Jones, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
