Bernard Tomic “will be supported” by I’m A Celebrity producers
A psychologist who has worked in reality TV says Bernard Tomic will be supported by network producers.
Tomic quit Channel 10’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Outta Here claiming he was feeling “depressed”.
But clinical psychologist Simon Kinsella told Tom Elliott that producers of the show would have prepared Tomic for what he was getting himself into.
Dr Kinsella has worked extensively in reality TV, and has helped develop the guidelines and standards for psychologists in that field.
He said Tomic would have been adequately prepared before the show, and won’t just be cut loose after it.
“I am 100 per cent sure he would have been extensively screened before he went on the show,” Dr Kinsella said.
“He will be supported by the producers of the show in how to manage himself going forward.”
Dr Kinsella said he thinks Tomic used the word “depressed” in the “everyday” sense rather than a clinical sense.
