Best-selling author Scott Pape, aka The Barefoot Investor, on why he’s no fan of Dollarmites

His last book sold more than 1.3 million copies, becoming one of the best selling Australian books in publishing history, and his newest has already set a record for pre-orders, surpassing that set by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling.

Scott Pape’s new book, The Barefoot Investor for Families is aimed fairly and squarely at parents, grandparents, and anyone who read his first book and said, ‘Why the hell wasn’t I taught this when I was a kid?’

He told Kate and Quarters he’s not a fan of the Commonwealth Bank’s Dollarmite accounts for kids.

“Having banks in schools is like having Ronald McDonald teaching kids about nutrition,” he said.
