Betts tells why he loved playing with Fev
Having played his first 184 games at Carlton, Eddie Betts certainly has some good memories from his Blues days.
A career highlight is playing alongside Brendan Fevola.
‘He’s such a great full-forward, some of the things he would say before games were hilarious,’ Betts told Sports Today.
Betts went on to tell about Fevola’s famous line where he offered Betts a ticket to ‘The Fev Show’.
‘He came out and kicked nine!’
Since moving to Adelaide, Betts has enjoyed playing the best football of his career.
This season he has already kicked 60 goals and he is on track to beat his career high of 63, which he kicked last year.
Betts puts fitness and Adelaide’s brutal regime down as a major factor in his own improvement.
‘Early on I was a little fatty,’ Betts said.
‘I had to work on my fitness a lot.’
‘When I got here, I found that out because all I did was just run, run, run, run, run.’
