STRIKERS SNEAK HOME

The BBL Final will take place in Adelaide.

The Strikers have held on for a thrilling one-run win over the Renegades.

With the Melbourne side needing three runs off the final ball (two to force a tie), Ben Laughlin beat Kieron Pollard’s bat and the batsmen could only manage one bye.

It’s a Friday night blockbuster as the Strikers and Renegades fight for a place in the Big Bash Grand Final.

Both sides are gunning for their first appearance in the decider, and after Hobart’s shock win over Perth last night, hosting rights for the Final are up for grabs.

The two squads are facing a test of depth, with several key players missing.

Adelaide will be without key players Alex Carey and Billy Stanlake, who are away with the national team, while the Renegades are without Aaron Finch, Brad Hodge, and Kane Richardson.

The Strikers have, however, been allowed to recall captain Travis Head from his international duties.

Adelaide won the toss and will bat first.

TEAMS

Strikers: Jake Weatherald, Jono Dean, Travis Head (c), Colin Ingram, Jono Wells, Jake Lehmann, Harry Nielsen (wk), Rashid Khan, Michael Neser, Peter Siddle, and Ben Laughlin.

Renegades: Marcus Harris, Tim Ludeman (wk), Cameron White, Tom Cooper, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Jack Wildermuth, Beau Webster, Chris Tremain, Joe Mennie, and Jon Holland.
