The 2026 Federal Budget will be announced Tuesday evening, with big promises being made for those locked out of the housing market.

Millennials and Gen Z are now the country’s biggest voting group, and the budget is set to finally offer relief for this demographic who have long struggled and competed with property investors.

Chief political correspondent for NINE newspapers, Paul Sakkal, has said that “the calculation that the government’s made this time is that … in the end, there are more Australians in the eyes of the government who want to see major change in the housing market”.
