Bill Shorten organises fundraiser to help the Les Twentyman Foundation
Bill Shorten is organising a fundraiser to help the Les Twentyman Foundation after Tuesday’s devastating fire.
The foundation lost hundreds of Christmas presents set to be donated to the needy after its Footscray base went up in flames.
Mr Shorten, the member for Maribyrnong, said he knows first-hand the good things the foundation does, and wants to help.
He’s organised a fundraising lunch on Friday for 100 guests at Crown, with the aim to raise $100,000.
‘It’s important that the kids he’s helping get to enjoy the Christmas spirit,’ he said.
Mr Shorten said to contact his office or the foundation for a place at the lunch.
