Bill Shorten takes aim at Melbourne Water over ‘control freak behaviour’

Tom Elliott

NDIS Minister and member for Maribyrnong Bill Shorten believes his constituents aren’t being treated fairly by Melbourne Water.

There were blocks of land in the area of Kensington that were considered flood prone, which lead to people building properties.

However, terrible floods occurred in Kensington which led to Melbourne Water declaring the area a flood zone.  This has left the residents in limbo with the properties hard to sell due to the previous floods.

Bill Shorten has slammed Melbourne Water on 3AW Mornings and believes they are “keeping people in the dark”.

“Melbourne Water have to change their approach, no more control freak behaviour,” he said.
