Bill to keep serial killer Paul Denyer behind bars for life defeated
A vote to keep Frankston serial killer Paul Denyer behind bars for good has failed.
The Greens and the Legalise Cannabis Party sided with the state government to vote down the proposed law 19 to 17.
The bill, proposed by the opposition, would have banned Denyer from applying from parole unless he’s at risk of death.
Instead, the government wants to limit the number of times the most serious offenders can apply for parole.
