Bird’s Basement aiming to join the ‘cultural calendar of Melbourne’
The owner of Melbourne’s newest jazz club wants to bring back dinner-and-a-show.
Albert Dadon, founder of Bird’s Basement, was the artistic director of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival from 2006-2008.
‘During that time, I couldn’t find venues that had dinner-shows,’ he told Darren James.
So he took matters into his own hands, opening Birds Basement.
And it’s no flash in the pan.
‘It’s for the long, long-term. This is something that is going to be part of the cultural calendar of Melbourne,’ Mr Dadon said.
