Bird species usually found in Russia spotted in Australia for the first time

A bird species which normally calls Russia home has been spotted in Australia for the first time ever.

Bird enthusiasts have photographed a Siberian rubythroat on Christmas Island.

Editor of BirdLife Australia, Sean Dooley, says Christmas Island is a hotspot for “vagrant birds”.
