Former Carlton and Melbourne player Brock McLean said he was left puzzled after the AFL opted not to publicised the body weights of players ahead of the 2024 season

It emerged on Friday that the League has opted against putting player weights in the official AFL season guide for the men’s competition this year, with all AFLW player weights also not being made public in recent years.

“It’s a bit of a head-scratcher for me,” McLean, who battled an eating disorder and mental issues during his time in the AFL, told Matt Granland on Wide World of Sports.

“I can understanding the reasoning behind it and putting mental health (at the forefront), but the footy world knowing what I weighed (during my career) was never an issue (for me).”
