‘Bizarre’: Carlton carpark to be given heritage listing

A “brutalist” 1970s car park at Carlton is being heritage listed, much to the surprise of local residents and Tom Elliott.

Carlton resident Katie Roberts-Hull said it was disappointing and “bizarre” to find out the Cardigan House car park, on the corner of Grattan and Cardigan streets, was being protected.

“I just think that land could be better used for pretty much any other purpose than a carpark,” she said.
