The Adelaide Strikers have defeated the Hobart Hurricanes by 5 wickets in front of 39,229 fans at the Adelaide Oval.

The Adelaide Strikers require 162 runs for victory as they look to secure their second win of the season and keep their finals hopes alive. The Hurricanes suffered an early batting collapse and looked in big trouble before Wells (55) and Webster (67) dug their heels in and were able to salvage the Hurricanes innings and help post a defendable score. The KFC Big Bash is back at the Adelaide Oval tonight with the Adelaide Strikers playing host to the Hobart Hurricanes. Adelaide come into the match sitting at 1-3 and Hobart at 2-2 in BBL|06, both desperate for a win tonight to keep their finals hopes alive. In their last clash just last week at Blundstone Arena, it was the Hurricanes victorious winning by 8 wickets. All-rounder Dan Christian’s 5 wicket haul (2nd best in BBL History) plus young gun D’Arcy Short (60) and captain Tim Paine’s (41) 105 opening-run partnership proving to be the difference. The Strikers go into tonight’s match with an unchanged squad, skipper Brad Hodge has led from the front this season averaging 58 with the bat and will hope that form continues when facing the canes strong bowling lineup that includes the likes of Tait, Broad, Rose and Christian. There will be no shortage of fireworks tonight in front of a near sell out crowd at the Adelaide Oval.
