1st Innings: Hobart Hurricanes 6/134 after 20 overs.

The Perth Scorchers require 135 runs for victory and to secure a home-semi final for the 6th consecutive year. The Hurricanes top order struggled to make an impact on the scoreboard, D’Arcy Short leading the way with 36 off 24 balls and tail-ender Clive Rose contributing 29*. Mitchell Johnson the pick of the bowlers finishing with figures of 2/15.

The Perth Scorchers have won the toss and elected to bowl.

The KFC Big Bash is back at Blundstone Arena tonight with the Hobart Hurricanes playing host to the Perth Scorchers. The Hurricanes come into tonight’s match sitting at 3-4 with the Scorchers at 4-3. It’s a must win match for the Hurricanes if they are to play finals, a loss would signal season over. A victory for the Scorchers however will secure them a place in the semi-finals for the 6th consecutive year.

Both sides have made changes to their 13-man squads ahead of tonight’s match. For the Hurricanes, Clive Rose comes in replacing Sam Rainbird. For the Scorchers, Cameron Bancroft and Josh Inglis make way for the return of skipper Adam Voges and Sam Whiteman. With finals on the line there’s guaranteed to be no shortage of fireworks in front of a sell-out crowd at Blundstone Arena.
