The KFC Big Bash is back at Etihad Stadium tonight with the Melbourne Renegades playing host to the Melbourne Stars. The Renegades come into tonight’s match sitting at 2-1 with cross-town rivals the Stars at 1-2. It’s a crucial match for both sides coming into the halfway point of the season and wins on the board will go a long way to securing a finals birth, especially for the Stars who are coming off successive losses. The last time the two teams met was on New Year’s Day at the MCG with the Renegades victorious by 7 runs putting an end to a six-game losing streak to the Stars.

The Renegades lineup will be bolstered by the return of James Pattinson and all-rounder Thisara Perera who replaces the injured Dwayne Bravo. The Stars will welcome the return of Rob Quiney and will need Pietersen and Maxwell firing with the bat when facing the Renegades dynamic bowling lineup, arguably the tournament’s most flexible and potent attack. With more than just bragging-rights up for grabs, tonight’s Melbourne Derby will be sure to leave one side seeing Stars.
