Australia (6/353) has defeated Pakistan (267) by 86 runs in game 4 at the SCG.  Sharjeel Khan 74, Zampa 3/55, Hazlewood 3/54

The Australian top order set up the insurmountable total with assistance from a multitude of shoddy misfields and dropped catches from the visitors . Despite the batting talent in the Pakistan side it was always a going to be a challenging task to overcome and subsequently square the series..  Australia has taken an unbeatable 3-1 lead in the 5 match ODI series against Pakistan with the final match to be played in Adelaide on Australia Day.

David Warner was named Man of the Match

An exciting innings from Sharjeel Khan was not enough to propell Pakistan to the massive total.  Highlights here.

From the first overs you sensed Australia was expecting more from their top 4.   David Warner and Usman Khawaja took advantage of a distinct lack of bowling pressure posting an authoritive opening partnership of 92 .  Warner went on the register his 12th ODI century and his seventh this year.  A thrilling 78 from Glenn Maxwell had all the bells and whistles.  Pakistan countered with misfields and dropped catches though amongst the carnage Hasan Ali registered figures of 5/52.  

Highlights of the Australian innings in Game 4 at the SCG

 

A glorious Sunday afternoon in Sydney.  Australia has won the toss and elected to bat first in Game 4 of the ODI series between Australia and Pakistan.  Changes include Adam Zampa replacing James Faulkner, Mitch Starc in for Billy Stanlake and Pakistan captain Azhar Ali returns to the side following a hamstring injury from game 2.   Australia lead 2-1 in the best of 5 series.
