Matt Renshaw has become the 7th youngest Australian to make his maiden Test century. Further turning it into a day he will never forget the 20 year old Renshaw went on to carry his bat finishing the day unbeaten on 167 in just his 4th Test match. Watching the warm embrace with Peter Handscomb who remains unbeaten on 40 Australians selectors would be buoyed by their ruthless team changes following the debacle in Hobart.

TEA: Australia 2/224 in 56.0 overs (MT Renshaw 83, SPD Smith 12)
Having joined illustrious company of Trumper, Macartney, Bradman and Majid Khan in the record books, Warner was able to add just a handful more runs to be out on 113. Once the superstar was back in the pavilion Matt Renshaw was took his opportunity. Composed and methodical he was 88 at tea eyeing his maiden Test century. Usman didn’t fire to be dismissed on 13. Steve Smith is enjoying the ebb and flow of the day 1 contest.

David Warner’s remarkable career continues. Today he can include a moment of history at the SCG. Warner has become only the 5th man in history, the 1st in decades and the 1st batsman in Australia to score a century in the opening session. With conditions ripe for batting the initial hour of his innings alone included 10 boundaries.
