Australia has won the third and final Test match against Pakistan by 220 runs to claim a clean sweep.

Australia will celebrate with real feeling having taken the series 3 nil.  A convincing win.  Once momentum turned Australia’s way they never looked back.  Matt Renshaw and Peter Handscomb have shown they have the capacity to play at the highest level with Josh Hazlewood was once again outstanding. Pakistan showed glimmers of brilliance such as Ashar Ali but dropped away dramatically.

David Warner was named Man of the Match.  Steve Smith was named Man of the Series.

Highlights

Tom Moody spoke with Peter Handscomb following Australia’s convincing win against Pakistan.

LUNCH Pakistan – 5/128  Misbah-ul-Haq 18, Asad Shafiq 23

Poor management and concentration has resulted in Pakistan losing 4 wickets this morning. Josh Hazlewood snared the superstar Azhar Ali in his first over of the day followed closely by Babar.  Younis Khan would be disappointed with the mode of his dismissal just a handful of runs short of 10,000.  There was a great deal of belief following the fighting spirit displayed at the Gabba  but their batting has lacked positivity to look certain.

The Pakistan good is very good but can fall away very quickly, evidenced by David Warner landing a knock out blow, scoring 100 before lunch on day 1.  Much will be demanded of the Pakistan skipper to fight before the final bell.

Dean Jones and Tom Moody wrap up the first session on the last day of Test cricket of the summer.
