Bloody blue at Rosebud RSL ‘family night’
A mother has explained how she huddled children to safety as a bloody brawl broke out at a bayside RSL.
Sue (not her real name) told Neil Mitchell she noticed an ‘intense atmosphere’ as two tables bickered during a supposed family night at the Rosebud RSL at the weekend.
The situation turned hostile when between two and four men ran into the room about 9pm and began assaulting patrons from one of the tables.
‘One man got head-butted, others were being slammed down into tables, it just turned into an all-in-brawl,’ explained Sue.
‘There was a lot of glass flying and blood everywhere.’
Sue huddled up many of the children present at the time to protect them before the group fled the scene.

Victim of the assault Brad has told Neil Mitchell his children are traumatised.
‘My kids didn’t sleep that night,’ said Brad.
‘I had just finished dancing to the nut bush with my daughter, Neil.
‘My daughter was hysterical.’
Neil Mitchell confirmed police are investigating, with one man admitted to hospital with upper body injuries.
