Bob Carr talks migration debate and Laura Tingle’s comments

Former foreign minister, Bob Carr has weighed in on the discussion around comments made by the ABC’s chief political correspondent, Laura Tingle.

He says, while he doesn’t want to join a pile-on, he was able to debate Australia’s migration level without mentioning where migrant would come from.

“The debate has been about the numbers … and the economic model of running an economy based on … exporting iron ore and building apartments,” he told Tom Elliott.
