Body found after house fire in Melbourne’s north

A person has died in a house fire in Melbourne’s north.

Emergency services were called to a house on Sydney Road in Campbellfield at 7.50pm on Thursday after reports of smoke.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Sadly, the body of a person was found inside.

The deceased person has not yet been identified.

A crime scene has been established and members from the Arson and Explosives Squad as well as fire investigators will attend the scene today.
