Body found inside burnt out Ringwood home

One person has died in a house fire in Melbourne’s east.

Emergency crews were called to the Strathallyn Road home just before 9.45pm yesterday following reports of explosions being heard from the property.

Firefighters discovered a body in the heavily damaged home after the blaze was extinguished.

Police do not believe anyone else was inside at the time of the fire, with a crime scene set up.

Specialist fire investigators will examine the scene this morning to determine the exact cause.
