Bolt on $100m anti-violence package: ‘Abbott was written out of history’

Tom Elliott

Andrew Bolt says Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull received undue praise for the government’s $100 million dollar family violence package.

Bolt said ousted PM Tony Abbott was written out of history when the package was unveiled late last week, quoting Australian of the Year Rosie Batty.

He said her comments regarding Tony Abbott were ‘graceless’.

‘I thought it was really ungracious for Rosie Batty to this week say that finally in Malcolm Turnbull we had a leader that took these these things seriously,’ he said.

‘Tony Abbott had appointed her, taken her issue seriously, and put together a package.’

Asked how he’d rate Mr Abbott for his prime ministership, Bolt scored him a 7.5-8/10.

Despite his political mistakes he said he was a ‘damn decent guy’.
