Bomb Response Unit called to Lara property

Police from the Bomb Response Unit have been called to a property in Lara after the discovery of what appears to be an improvised explosive device.

Armed crime detectives executed a search warrant in Mark Street, Lara at 12pm.

Police say they the unknown device was allegedly uncovered in the warrant.

A 27-year-old Lara man has been arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Police from the Bomb Response Unit are also in attendance.

Caller Kate reported heavy police on the street, at the nearby primary school where her children attend.
