Bombers have ‘genuine grievances’ to become free agents, says Ling
Confusion reigns as to whether or not the suspended Essendon players will become free agents ahead of next season.
Sam ‘Scoop’ McClure told Sports Today there is disagreement between the league and player managers as to how this will play out.
But former Geelong star Cameron Ling doesn’t have any doubts.
‘Essendon plead guilty to WorkSafe for an unsafe work environment,’ Ling said on Thursday.
‘The players would have genuine grievances to be delisted free agents, surely.’
Ling also said it was ‘unbelievable’ that Troy Menzel isn’t fit enough to make Adelaide’s NAB Challenge squad.
The Crows are disappointed with Menzel’s condition since joining from Carlton, and he has all but been ruled out for Round 1.
‘It’s unbelievable that you get traded from a club and it’s not the kick up the backside you need,’ Ling said.
