Boomers banned over ugly brawl against Philippines
Three Australian basketballers have been suspended for their part in the ugly brawl against the Philippines.
Daniel Kickert, pictured, was hardest hit by FIBA – he’s copped a five-game ban.
NBA player Thon Maker (three games) and Melbourne star Chris Goulding (one game) were also suspended.
Basketball Australia has been fined $135,000.
The Philippines had 10 players rubbed out for a total of 35 FIBA games and national federation was fined $337,000.
Philippines head coach Vincent Reyes was given a one-game suspension and a $14,000 disciplinary fine and an assistant was banned for three games.
