Brad Battin calls for new childcare legislation immediately

Opposition leader Brad Battin has told Jacqui Felgate he will support anything that will make children safer and urges for new rules to come in instantly.

This comes after the government’s proposed new child safety rules in early education after the news of an alleged childcare abuser, won’t come into effect until September 1st.

“We should be getting it in as soon as possible … because no family should ever have to go through this,” he said on 3AW Drive.

Battin also said that he will continue to push the government, and that the Moria Deeming situation has not stopped him from “doing what (he) needs to do”.
