Brad Hogg backs Christmas day cricket

Veteran spinner Brad Hogg has thrown his support behind cricket on Christmas Day.

Hogg said it would be a ‘step forward’ for the game.

The 45-year-old joined Shane McInnes in the 3AW studio for Sports Today on Tuesday night, and he said players and fans should get behind the concept.

He said there’s a lot of backyard cricket taking place on the day, and kids would be inspired to watch the Big Bash that night.

Hogg also said players can’t complain as they spend most Christmases travelling away from their families anyway.
