Brendan Fevola and Jason Akermanis in country footy slanging match
WIN: The ultimate GF experience for you and three mates
A bizarre slanging match has erupted between former AFL stars Brendan Fevola and Jason Akermanis.
The pair are coaching country clubs in the strong Ovens and Murray league, with Fevola’s Yarrawonga ending the season of North Albury last Sunday in an elimination final.
North Albury, coached by Akermanis, referred a handful of incidents from the game to the league’s match review panel to be assessed on video.
They were all thrown out.
Fevola told The Border Mail his club was ‘pissed off’ by the actions of the Brownlow medallist.
‘If someone did something bad, fair enough,’ Fevola told The Border Mail.
‘But to try and stitch five of our players up, come on mate.
‘It’s country footy for god’s sake.’
But Akermanis maintained Fevola’s club was ‘dirty’ and had been roughing his side up for years.
