Brighton man arrested after pointing a laser at the police chopper, thinking it was a UFO

Police say a man who pointed a laser at the Police airwing last night claims he mistakenly thought the chopper was a UFO.

The incident happened shortly before 1.30am on Thursday.

A 42-year-old man was arrested at a home on Bay Street, Brighton, a short time later.

He’s expected to be charged on summons with conduct endangering persons and interference with a crew or aircraft.
