Brisbane deserve priority pick: Caro
The AFL kept the priority pick as a tool to help clubs in a situation that Brisbane currently face, according to Caroline Wilson.
Despite having the same amount of wins as Fremantle and Essendon (one win each), it is widely agreed that Brisbane is furthest away from success.
Caroline Wilson believes if Brisbane win less than five games this year, the AFL should give them a priority pick.
‘I think they will and I think they should.’
‘The Commission have kept that discretion for a reason and I think that reason is a situation like Brisbane’s.’
Following that, Brisbane’s broader issues of debt and player retention must also be addressed.
‘There needs to be a collective situation where the AFL says you need help in all these different areas.’
‘Retaining players is obviously the big one. So many managers and clubs are telling us now that Brisbane is vulnerable.’
