Broadcaster Hamish McLachlan recovering in hospital after horse accident

Popular broadcaster Hamish McLachlan is recovering in hospital after he was badly hurt riding a horse.

He suffered six broken ribs and a collapsed lung.

McLachlan was trampled by another horse after falling off his own while riding on Wednesday.

He was taken to The Alfred hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

McLachlan, a regular on the Neil Mitchell program, said he was very lucky not be injured further.
