Bruce Woodley reveals what he said during his final conversation with Judith Durham

One of the founding members of The Seekers has shared a touching tribute to the late Judith Durham.
The much-loved entertainer died at the age of 79 over the weekend after complications from chronic lung disease.
Bruce Woodley says he’s lost a “tight-knit” family member, a friend and a colleague.
“She was a warrior and that’s one of the things that sticks in my mind. She was very, very strong-willed because she struggled all her life with a lung disease,” he told Neil Mitchell.
“She virtually operated on one lung power for all those years and still managed every night to go out on the stage and deliver those wonderful vocals with us.”
Mr Woodley spoke to Judith a few hours before her death and says the conversation was “wonderful”.
“I thanked her for being a part of my life and the great adventure that we had over all those years,” he revealed.
Asked whether the remaining members of The Seekers will perform at Judith Durham’s state funeral, Mr Woodley says he personally doesn’t think it’d be appropriate.
“We’re not there to try and emulate anything, we’re there to try and honour our dear friend and I think we should maybe leave it at that,” he said.
