Bureau of Meteorology website down

Australia’s main weather information services from the Bureau of Meteorology are out of action.

The organisation is citing a major network problem that they’re trying to fix.

It’s affecting everything from temperature readings to radar imagery for airports.

Weatherzone’s Rob Sharpe says they to rely on the Bureau’s updates, and they’ve been told to sit tight.

While there appears no major implications in Melbourne, the outage could be unnerving for those monitoring fires in WA.

The Bureau of Meteorlogy was hacked in early December, some experts saying China was trying to gain access to more sensitive data.
