Bus carrying special needs teenagers hit by tram in CBD
A mini-bus carry special needs teenagers has been hit by a tram in a terrifying CBD crash.
The driver of the bus was making a hook turn from Collins Street into Kings Street shortly before 11pm on Wednesday night when a tram took out the driver’s side door.
The bus was then pushed about 100 metres before hitting a parked car, mounting the curb and then smashing into the pillar of a building.
MFB crews helped free the driver.
Two of the four teens on the bus were injured and taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said they were from a special school on the Bass Coast and were on a school trip in the city.
