Business leaders call for calm amid new variant emergence

Australia’s business leaders have called for calm over the emergence of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

Business is just getting back on its feet after a torrid two years of constant lockdowns.

Understandably, the new strain has led to immediate concern about more crippling business shutdowns..

But Jennifer Westacott, CEO of the Business Council of Australia, said that shouldn’t be on the table.

“The worst thing we can do is panic,” she said.
