Businesses accused of ‘rorting’ customers with surcharges

Businesses have been accused of “rorting” customers with surcharges, with figures showing surcharges in cafes and restaurants are up 15 per cent from last year.

Adjunct Professor at Swinburne University, Steve Worthington, told Neil Mitchell businesses are being “deceitful” by not alerting customers to surcharges and “there’s a bit of rorting going on here”.
