Businessman bills state government for lost revenue on new public holiday
A Ballarat businessman has billed the state government $5000 for lost revenue on the Grand Final eve public holiday.
Stefan Bastra runs a design print company and says the holiday is going to financially hurt him.
‘What I’ve done is sat down and thought about what the actually cost would be for having the public holiday off for the Grand Final,’ he told Neil Mitchell.
‘I don’t agree with the public holiday, I don’t think we need it. And I thought well perhaps Mr Andrews would like to pay my expenses if he thought it was such a good idea for the Victorian business community.’
Mr Bastra says he is yet to hear back from the government.
