‘By Friday’ – 3AW Breakfast listeners make some predictions

New data has found just 11 per cent of some 3800 predictions made by Australian psychics between 2000 and 2020 were unambiguously correct, an accuracy rate worse than people taking random guesses in a control group.

It gave Ross and Russel and their listeners a licence to make some predictions themselves on things that will or won’t happen by Friday, February 4.

Among them…

  • Another ageing artist will have left Spotify in protest of Joe Rogan’s podcast.
  • Russian won’t have invaded Ukraine.
  • A newspaper will have run a story about twins heading off to their first day of school.
  • A school will have a teacher unable to teach classes due to COVID-19.
  • Victoria’s “Code Brown” will be lifted

Richard Saunders, Chief Investigator for Australian Skeptics Inc., said the accuracy in which psychics made accurate predictions was no better than the “have a guess and see what happens” range.

“There is no need for us to think what psychic powers psychics are using to predict the future, because there is no evidence they can really do it,” he said.
